Must have experience in Info Security, data protection, data privacy and be able to work as part of a team. Insurance experience industry preferred.

Role

  • Manage the delivery of projects and/or significant pieces of work.

  • Work with the other Program and Project Managers, Regional BA& QA Manager, and Regional Head of Application Development to achieve a coherent portfolio approach.

  • Work with resource/line managers to ensure adequate support and resourcing for the program.

  • Ensure that project requirement, process design and implementation approach reflect the strategic business direction.

  • Ensure that projects have a clear business operational change strategy enabling them to fully deliver the identified business benefits.

  • Facilitating effective budgetary monitoring for Project costs.

Main duties:

  • Participate in the delivery of Project Portfolio, working with the Program Delivery Team,and ensuring:

  • Alignment to company’s Business Strategy, IT Strategy, and end to end businessprocess.

  • Active consideration of business change readiness, enabling successful delivery ofchange into the business

  • Work undertaken achieves a clean bill of health from internal and external audits.

  • Consistent delivery to business and standardization of program approach

  • Management of dependencies, resource conflicts, and bottlenecks

  • Management of risks and issues in a timely and appropriate manner

  • Participating in commercial negotiations and 3rd party supplier performance management from early engagement through delivery and support, representing company’s interests whilst building strategic partnerships (working alongside Procurement)

  • Managing stakeholder expectations through relevant and regular communications

  • Proactively managing workloads and competing priorities, taking appropriate action to address potential issues that could impact delivery.

 

Successful delivery of projects should include:

  • Communication of project work to the wider business community of the company asappropriate

  • Ensuring that all Project work adheres to methodology including the provision of all associated documentation.

  • Ensuring that all management and supporting documentation is in place.

  • Working with third parties (if applicable) to ensure build/configuration will meet business

  • requirements.

  • Working with the Business to develop business procedures ready for application roll-out.

  • Provision of all operational ‘abilities’ within the project scope at the outset

  • Handover of projects to Group operations / Service management at go-live.

  • Comply with external and internal regulatory and statutory policies, procedures, and regulations.

  • Operate as an effective team member by supporting colleagues and contributing to the delivery and achievement of the team's overall vision and objectives.

  • Liaise with key business groups to establish, support and maintain solid business relationships and organizational effectiveness.

  • To undertake any other duties of a similar nature that the company reasonably requests to be performed that are within the expertise and skills of the jobholder. These may be subject to periodic review and any updates and changes to be introduced after consultation with the person concerned.

 

Education/experience:

  • Degree or equivalent

  • 3 years+ project / program management experience

  • Significant experience of working with Waterfall, Agile or Prince2

  • Exposure to a variety of companies, working practices, and cultures is a must.

  • Significant previous experience of projects in a financial services organization

  • Consultancy background is an advantage.

  • Experience of the insurance industry advantageous, preferable but not mandatory

  • Finance/Accountancy background or Finance systems delivery experience advantageous, but not mandatory.

  • Core underwriting system delivery experience preferable, but not mandatory.
